Parametric Architecture  |  Landscape Design  |  Playground Innovation

A parametric structural design for redesigning Melbourne's first playground project led by Melbourne City Council. This project aims to elevate the nature-play experience to the canopy level of the five huge preserving Moreton Bay Fig trees. Hence, MOD.E inspired by the unique tree trunk shapes and replicates to form an extended play area around the trees. The parameters of the modular components vary subject to the structure height for the user age group. To ensure the safety of the pedestrians in the dark, the structure is illuminating when there is a user detected by a motion sensor and dark-activated LED light.
